Kotelny Island is a part of the New Siberian Islands located between the Laptev Sea and the East Siberian Sea in the Russian Arctic. This island are a practically uninhabited territory belonging to Yakutia of the Russian Federation. The island inhabited only by meteorologists, but in the summer months pothunters come 300km by sea from the Big Land to dig mammoth tusk. There are no trees, no grass. Only moss forming the Arctic tundra. August 2012.
